Alex Ennes and his family were part of GSFBC for many years. Geyer Springs is where Alex surrendered to full-time vocational ministry in 1984 and was later licensed and ordained here as well. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ouachita Baptist University and a master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served in churches in Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, and Ohio, and served as an intern with Geyer Springs under Dave Hughey in 1993. Alex was approached by the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention to plant a church in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Downtown Cleveland is the home to many young business professionals in their 20’s and 30’s, yet there are no evangelical churches in that area to reach that audience for Christ. He and his wife, Shari, moved to downtown Cleveland and have now started a church there called Gateway Church. The first service was conducted on April 1st, 2007. Please pray for Alex and his family in their new work - that God would open up opportunities for them to share the gospel in downtown Cleveland, Ohio.
