Geyer Springs First Baptist Preschool Center provides a variety of classes to serve as an extension of the home in helping preschoolers develop and grow. The Center opened in September 1970 as a ministry of the church and continues today in the Preschool Wing at 12400 Interstate 30. The ministry focus is based on Luke 2:52, "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." NIV
The Center strives to provide stimulating learning opportunities in a secure, loving, Christ-centered setting. The Center is licensed by the Arkansas Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. Teachers use WEE Learn Curriculum to provide early learning experiences that meet the Arkansas Framework for Threes and Fours.
Preschoolers have many opportunities to develop skills as teachers provide hands-on activities in learning centers. Learning takes place in each session as children explore, discover and create with materials in a variety of centers including
art
books
homeliving
blocks
writing
science/nature
manipulatives
music/movement
Children also learn as they work with teachers to hear books read aloud, play outdoors, hear Bible stories and play Bible verse games and explore materials to help develop language and math skills. During the year, community visitors for all ages and field trips for 4's provide enrichment for many topics of study. Schedules are carefully designed to meet the varied needs of the children throughout the day.
Public enrollment for fall classes opens each February. Contact Susie Shumaker for information about current openings or for details about enrollment for the next school year.
