On February 17, 2009 all full-power broadcast television stations in the US will stop broadcasting on analog airwaves and begin broadcasting only in digital. To find out whether or not you will be impacted by the digital TV (DTV) transition here are two helpful websites:
In August 1988 GeyerSpringsFirstBaptistChurch began a one-hour worship broadcast from the Geyer Springs Road location. With only a handful of volunteers the broadcast began airing weekly on Comcast Cable. On December 1, 1996 our church made the move to the initial building on Interstate 30. The Television Ministry office and equipment moved to the I-30 location to videotape worship services while the rest of the staff remained at the Geyer Springs Road location until construction was completed on the new worship center. In the summer of 1998, the church decided to continue what had become an important outreach to our community and upgrade equipment to make the move into the newly constructed worship center. On November 1, 1998 with new cameras and equipment in place, our broadcast continued to serve our viewers without interruption.
On February 1, 2004 a thirty minute broadcast began airing on FOX 16 giving our church full statewide coverage. Also, for two years our broadcast was seen nationwide on FamilyNet
Over the 20 years Geyer Springs First Baptist has been ministering to people one broadcast at a time through over 1,200 broadcasts. Our broadcast reaches people every week who need Christ, and who need a special word of encouragement.
Our Worship Broadcast airs on FOX 16 Sunday’s 7:00 – 7:30AM.
Thank you to our many volunteers who faithfully serve in this important outreach ministry of our church!
